A.P. Extrusion manufactures custom polyethylene tubing for applications that require chemical resistance, flexibility, and consistent dimensional control. Polyethylene is a widely used thermoplastic, and projects are evaluated to ensure alignment with A.P. Extrusion’s custom extrusion capabilities and quality standards.
We support extrusion of common polyethylene grades, including low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE). Material selection is driven by application requirements such as flexibility, rigidity, barrier properties, environmental exposure, and long-term performance. LDPE is typically selected for applications requiring softness and flexibility, while HDPE is used where increased stiffness and dimensional stability are required.
Polyethylene tubing is produced within defined dimensional ranges aligned with A.P. Extrusion’s extrusion processes. As a general guideline, outside diameters above approximately 0.500 inches are not supported. Smaller diameters and wall thicknesses are evaluated based on material selection, geometry, and application requirements during the quoting and feasibility review process.
Tubing can be manufactured to customer-specified inner and outer diameters, wall thicknesses, and lengths, with achievable tolerances dependent on material grade, part geometry, and processing considerations. Dimensional targets are reviewed collaboratively to ensure manufacturability, consistency, and repeatability over production runs.
For medical and life science applications, polyethylene tubing can be produced using medical-grade, USP Class VI–compliant resins when required.
A.P. Extrusion focuses on custom, application-specific polyethylene tubing rather than commodity or off-the-shelf products. Each program is reviewed based on technical requirements, production expectations, and long-term manufacturing fit to ensure alignment with customer performance needs and internal capabilities.
